Speaker at a meeting

Welcome to the Des Moines Area Community College Speech Communication webpage! We are pleased that you are interested in seeing the courses and opportunities available to you.

Did you know that the skill most employers ranked as their top priority in a new employee is the "ability to communicate effectively"? Employers will take note of your resume if you have taken several communication courses, been part of a communication club, or earned national and state honors in speech communication. The courses in our department could be the beginning of the path which would lead you to jobs related to the field of communication.
