BVU Opens Professional & Online Studies Site at DMACC Carroll Campus
Storm Lake, Iowa - Buena Vista University's (BVU) Professional & Online Studies program will be opening its newest location at Carroll in August in partnership with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).
This will be the 15th site for BVU's program and it will be the second to be located on a DMAAC campus. BVU also opened a site at DMACC's Newton facilities in 2002. The Carroll program will offer bachelor of arts degree-completion programs in business administration and business management, with the first courses starting Aug. 31.
The site director at Carroll will be Kathy Schmidt, who was previously employed with Iowa State University Extension and has classroom teaching experience in the Carroll area.
"This program is a great match for DMACC students who have completed either an associate of science or associate of arts degree in business administration and for those individuals who wish to return to college to complete a bachelor's degree in the business field," says Steve Schulz, provost at the DMACC Carroll Campus. "Over the years, we have received many calls about this type of programming.'
BVU President Fred Moore says "We look forward to expanding our partnership with DMACC to the Carroll area. It is especially important in these stressful economic times to broaden the educational opportunities available to the citizens of this region to enable them to advance in their chosen professions or prepare for entirely new careers."
BVU's Professional & Online Studies program, which was established over 30 years ago, also has locations at Council Bluffs, Creston, Denison, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer, Spirit Lake, Le Mars, Marshalltown, Mason City and Ottumwa. More than 25 programs of study are offered, ranging from business and education to arts management, technology management and social science.
