In an emergency…

The DMACC Alert - Emergency Notification System can quickly alert DMACC students, faculty and staff of potentially dangerous situations. The system would be activated for events reflecting immediate pending danger such as a violent person on campus, a dangerous chemical spill or a bomb threat evacuation. DMACC Alert will also be used to notify students, faculty and staff of weather related closings.

How you'll get the message

  • Any DMACC Crisis Management Team (CMT) member can broadcast a voice message to be transmitted over the DMACC phone system and speakers in buildings across the district. Messages can also be sent students, faculty and staff email, cell and land line phones.
  • Messages can be sent to specific buildings, campuses/sites or district wide.
  • DMACC Alert will only be used for "crisis" level events and weather related closings.

Sign up in three easy steps:

  1. Log on to www.GetRave.com/login/dmacc
  2. The Rave username is your DMACC email address. The DMACC Alert passwordis NOT your regular DMACC password. Select "Forgot your password" and an email will be sent to your DMACC email address with instructions on how to set a new one.
  3. Once you are logged in, add your cell and  land line numbers and additional email addresses (up to three each).

  1. What is the DMACC Alert - Emergency Notification System?

    DMACC Alert is a system for quickly delivering emergency messages by email, cell and land line phones and speakers to students, faculty and staff on all DMACC Campuses. DMACC Alert is built upon the InformaCast System, developed by CDW Berbee and the RAVE Wireless platform.

    The system will be activated when there are immediate threats to the safety of those on a DMACC Campus or weather related closings. Notifications will be sent via the DMACC phone system and intercom speakers and to email, cell and land line phones of those who add their numbers to the system. Messages will be brief, include basic information and provide instructions on how to obtain more details.

  2. How does DMACC Alert work?

    InformaCast is a system that allows emergency messages to be sent to DMACC phones and through a speaker system. A DMACC Crisis Management Team Member can send a live broadcast through the phone services menu. Messages can be district wide, campus specific or on some campuses, building specific. The RAVE Wireless platform allows messages to be sent via email, cell and landline phones.

  3. How do I sign up to receive DMACC Alert?

    Student, faculty and staff DMACC email addresses and phone numbers in the DMACC system are automatically put in the RAVE system. Students, faculty and staff need to log in to www.getrave.com/login/dmacc and add additional email, cell and land line numbers, up two three each. The Rave Username is the full DMACC email address. A computer generated password has been sent to all students, faculty and staff at their DMACC email address. To reset a password click the "Forgot username or password" below the login area and follow the directions.

    There is no need to sign up for the alerts that are broadcast over DMACC phones and speakers.

  4. How do I utilize the system if I am visually impaired or hearing impaired?

    The visually impaired can hear the emergency messages by phone or speaker. The hearing-impaired can be informed by non-hearing impaired students, faculty and staff or by getting text messages.

  5. For what types of emergencies will I be notified via this system?

    The DMACC Alert - Emergency Notification System will be activated in potentially dangerous situations and weather related closings.   7. What is the time frame in which I should expect to receive a DMACC Alert?

    A DMACC Alert will be broadcast in a timely manor as soon as all appropriate information is reviewed and a decision is made to broadcast an alert.

  8. Who is responsible for declaring an emergency and sending out a DMACC Alert?

    The DMACC Crisis Management Team (CMT) is authorized to send out a DMACC Alert.

  9. Will the www.dmacc.edu website contain information about the emergency?

    Information regarding a DMACC alert will be posted on the DMACC website as is deemed appropriate by the Crisis Management Team (CMT).

  10. What if I want to get text or voice message instead?

    Student, faculty and staff DMACC email addresses and phone numbers in the DMACC system are automatically put in the RAVE system and voice and text messages will be sent to the numbers in the system. Students, faculty and staff need to log in to www.getrave.com/login/dmacc and add additional email, cell and land line numbers, up two three each

  11. Other members of the DMACC community received emergency (or test) DMACC Alert messages, but I did not. What should I do?

    If you did not receive a DMACC Alert notify Tech Support at ext. 7300.

  12. What action should I take if I do receive a DMACC Alert?

    DMACC students, faculty and staff should listen carefully to any DMACC Alert and follow the instructions given.
